Together for electromobility: We provide KONA Electric to Bartošovice Rescue Station

  • The Hyundai car plant in Nošovice continues its program that allows municipalities and organizations from the Moravian-Silesian Region to use a Hyundai Kona Electric free of charge for six months

  • Another successful applicant is the local branch of the Czech Union for Nature Conservation in Nový Jičín, which operates a wildlife rescue station in Bartošovice

  • Through the project “Together for Electromobility,” Hyundai Nošovice supports the development of electromobility in the region and raises public awareness about electric vehicles

Every day, nature conservationists from the rescue station in Bartošovice respond to calls about injured wild animals throughout the region—most often birds. Now, thanks to the “Together for Electromobility” project, they will also be able to use a Hyundai Kona Electric during their trips. The Bartošovice rescue station received the electric vehicle from the Hyundai car plant in Nošovice for free use over a six-month period.

“We are very pleased that we succeeded in Hyundai’s call for applications. It means a lot to us because as a rescue station we cover a vast area—practically the entire Moravian-Silesian Region and the Vsetín area. We take in up to 2,300 animals annually, and during this time of year, we go out several times a day. This is our first electric car, and we’re looking forward to it. We’ll be driving quietly and helping protect the environment.”
Petr Orel, head of the facility

The “Together for Electromobility” program, through which Hyundai Nošovice provides selected applicants with a Kona Electric from its own production, supports the development of electromobility in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The Nošovice car plant launched this pilot project to promote clean mobility last summer, when it donated a Kona Electric for one year for official use by employees of the Třinec City Hall.

“We are glad to have launched the ‘Together for Electromobility’ program and to now be able to support the Bartošovice rescue station. Environmental protection is a key priority for us. Beyond implementing ecological measures throughout our production, we also organize and support meaningful projects that help preserve the natural heritage around us.”
Barbora Hermanová, Head of Public Relations Department, HMMC

Employees regularly have the opportunity to take part in so-called eco days and help protect the surrounding nature. Hyundai Nošovice also supports the ČSOP Salamandr organization, which carries out nature conservation projects in the Beskydy Mountains. This contributes to the preservation of the biodiversity of mountain meadows and pastures on the Beskydy slopes. As of this year, the Nošovice plant is also supporting the breeding of the endangered Grevy’s zebra at the Ostrava Zoo. On the HMMC premises, insect hotels, birdhouses, birdbaths, and bat boxes have recently been installed. A butterfly meadow near the paint shop hall is another unique feature. The Nošovice plant integrates environmental care into all of its activities. Many other environmental initiatives are supported by the car manufacturer through grant programs or the Hyundai Endowment Fund.

At the beginning of next year, as part of the “Together for Electromobility” project, the Nošovice plant will hand over a Kona Electric to the local action group Frýdlantsko – Beskydy. This will allow applicants to experience the benefits of an electric car firsthand. The next round of applications will open in the spring of next year.
