    Hyundai Donate over CZK 1,000,000 to Children, Athletes, Community and People with Disabilities

    • The eighth annual “Together 2023” grant program attracted a record number of applicants — and the amount Hyundai Nošovice will distribute through the grants is also at a record high

    • The largest portion of the funds will go to projects for children and sports in the region.

    • The grant program is one of the key activities within HMMC’s corporate social responsibility efforts, for which the company recently received the prestigious Governor’s Award of the Region.

    Thanks to the “Together 2023” grant program, organizers of sports and cultural events across the region can look forward to contributions of up to CZK 25,000. The grants will also support the purchase of equipment for some clubs and help fund their activities. A portion of the money will assist organizations working with people with disabilities.

    A record 122 applications were submitted for the eighth year of the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) grant program—18 more than last year. The evaluation committee, made up of nine representatives from the company and professional community, faced a difficult task. The highest amount of funding went to the “Together for Sports” category, which received CZK 398,832 and supported 18 projects. The second most-supported category was “Children,” with CZK 305,439 distributed among 16 projects. For projects aimed at helping people with disabilities, the company allocated CZK 176,695 across 9 initiatives. The fewest applications were submitted in the “Together for Community” category, which will receive CZK 123,600 for 7 projects. In total, HMMC will distribute over CZK 1,000,000 to 50 recipients. Priority was given to projects supported by HMMC employees. The results of the grant program, including a list of funded projects, are available here.

    Governor’s Award for Corporate Social Responsibility Goes to HMMC

    Through its grant programs, Hyundai Nošovice has long supported the development of neighboring municipalities, employee-led projects and initiatives, and contributed to helping young talents achieve their dreams. Thanks to the plant’s diverse CSR activities, the car manufacturer was awarded the prestigious Governor’s Award for Corporate Social Responsibility for 2022 on Tuesday, May 9. Just like three years ago, the Hyundai Nošovice plant won in the category for businesses with over 250 employees.

    In recent years, HMMC has launched a number of other socially responsible projects and formed new partnerships with regional organizations. For example, it is a partner of FC Baník Ostrava Academy, Dolní Vítkovice, and the Technotrail (Technotrasa), and it also cooperates with ČSOP Salamandr on the restoration of mountain meadows in the Beskydy Mountains.
