Together for Electromobility: New Users Receive Hyundai Kona Electric Vehicles
Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) continues its grant program Together for Electromobility, through which municipalities, institutions, and non-profit organizations in the Moravian-Silesian Region can use a Hyundai Kona Electric vehicle free of charge for half a year.
Another group of four applicants from the Moravian-Silesian Region received their Hyundai Kona Electric vehicles on Tuesday, September 9, directly at the HMMC premises. This time, the participating organizations include the municipality of Jindřichov, MEDICA Třinec, z.ú., Domov Vesna, a contributory organization, and MAS Slezská brána, z.s. Over the course of six months, the vehicles will be used for both work-related and community activities, providing the organizations with hands-on experience with electromobility.
Tomáš Řeha, representative of MAS Slezská brána, explained how their organization will use the vehicle:
“Thanks to the electric vehicle, we can support regional development in a more sustainable way. In the area between Ostrava and Frýdek-Místek, which has long struggled with traffic congestion, we aim to promote electromobility and demonstrate that eco-friendly transport is possible. We hope to become an inspiration for other organizations in the region.”
The Together for Electromobility program has been running since 2022, with the goal of demonstrating the practical benefits of electric vehicles and encouraging their broader use in the region. Since its launch, 14 organizations have taken part, driving nearly 65,000 kilometers in total—over 22,000 of those just this year.
“Interest in the program is growing every year. This time we received a record 24 applications, which clearly shows that electromobility is becoming an increasingly relevant topic in the region. We are pleased that through this project we can offer institutions real-life experience with electric vehicles and contribute to the gradual development of modern mobility in our region.” Barbora Hermanová, Head of Public Relations, HMMC
The next round of applications for municipalities, public offices, and non-profit organizations in the Moravian-Silesian Region will open again in the spring of next year. More information is available on the company’s website in the About Company.
