Together for Electromobility:
New Users Receive Hyundai Kona
Electric Vehicles

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) continues its grant program Together for Electromobility, which allows municipalities, institutions, and non-profit organizations in the Moravian-Silesian Region to use the Hyundai Kona Electric free of charge for six months.

Another group of four applicants from the Moravian-Silesian Region took delivery of Hyundai Kona Electric vehicles on Tuesday, September 9, directly at the HMMC premises. This time, the program included the municipality of Jindřichov, MEDICA Třinec, z.ú., Domov Vesna, a contributory organization, and MAS Slezská brána, z.s. For six months, the vehicles will be used for work-related and community activities, allowing the organizations to gain practical experience with electromobility.

Tomáš Řeha, representative of MAS Slezská brána, explained how the organization will use the vehicle: “Thanks to the electric car, we can support territorial development in a more environmentally friendly way. In the area between Ostrava and Frýdek-Místek, which has long been burdened by traffic, we want to promote electromobility and show that ecological transportation is possible. We hope to inspire other organizations in the region as well.”

The Together for Electromobility program has been operating since 2022 with the aim of demonstrating the practical benefits of electric vehicles and supporting their wider adoption in the region. Since its launch, 14 entities have tested the electric car, covering almost 65,000 kilometers, with more than 22,000 kilometers driven just this year.

“The interest in the program grows every year. This time, we received a record 24 applications, which clearly shows that electromobility is an increasingly attractive topic in the region. We are pleased that through this project, we can offer institutions real experience with electric vehicles and thus contribute to the gradual development of modern mobility in our region,” says Barbora Hermanová, Head of Public Relations at HMMC.
