Take-Back of Batteries and Accumulators
Our company carries out the take-back of batteries and accumulators through the collective system operated by ECOBAT s.r.o., headquartered at Soborská 1302/8, 160 00 Prague 6, Company ID: 26725967, www.ecobat.cz (hereinafter the “ECOBAT Collective System”).
The take-back of waste batteries and accumulators is ensured regardless of whether they are placed on the market separately or as part of, or an accessory to, other products (in our case, automobiles).
As with waste tyres, waste batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste or landfilled. Improper disposal can lead to the release of hazardous substances into the environment, posing potential risks to human health.
End users should deliver waste batteries and accumulators to public collection points to ensure their subsequent material recovery using the best available techniques. Recycling the metals contained in waste batteries achieves significant energy and material savings of primary raw materials.
You can find the network of collection points of the ECOBAT Collective System at https://mapa.ecobat.cz/. The interactive map provides complete information about the nearest collection point where waste batteries and accumulators can be delivered free of charge. You can filter the results by battery group or by the possibility of jointly returning waste batteries with small electronic devices.
Portable batteries can be delivered to any public collection point in the ECOBAT network or to the last retailer. Automotive or industrial batteries can only be delivered to designated battery collection points, such as the ECOBAT collection network, or to a person authorized to accept them under the Waste Act.
All batteries and accumulators can be delivered regardless of brand, market release date, purchase of a new product, and without any fee for this service.
Batteries and accumulators placed on the market by our company are marked with the standard graphic symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin. This symbol indicates that the battery must not be disposed of with mixed waste and must be delivered to a designated collection point. If a battery contains a heavy metal, the chemical composition must also be indicated under the symbol: Hg for mercury, Cd for cadmium, and Pb for lead. Groups of portable and automotive batteries or accumulators visibly, legibly, and indelibly include information about their capacity.
