This year, we again took part in the global initiative Giving Tuesday, which serves as a counterbalance to Black Friday. While Black Friday promotes shopping and consumption, Giving Tuesday encourages volunteering and community support. This time, we organized an event for seniors in cooperation with ADRA Frýdek-Místek.

Our senior staff visited the Social Services Center in Frýdlant nad Ostravicí, where they spent an afternoon full of conversations, interesting topics, and tastings of Korean treats. They introduced our company to the clients, screened a corporate film, and presented Korean culture and traditions.

“Yesterday’s meeting with the seniors at the Social Services Center in Frýdlant nad Ostravicí was inspiring for all of us. We used the time together to get to know one another and to share life experiences and stories. I appreciate my colleagues for taking the time. Judging by the smiles on the seniors’ faces, I believe they enjoyed the gathering, and we look forward to the next one,” said Aleš Spáčil from the Employee Relations Department, which organized the event.

The most heartwarming moment of the afternoon was the individual conversations with the seniors – over coffee, our employees had the chance to get to know the residents personally and share pleasant moments with them.

“Every year before Christmas, we organize the Christmas ‘Andělka,’ where we fulfill the wishes of seniors from the home in Komorní Lhotka. Just like the fulfilled wishes, the time spent together brought smiles not only to the seniors but also to us volunteers, who had the chance to delight the seniors and enjoy a pleasant afternoon with them. I am extremely glad that we can beautifully connect social responsibility and the activities associated with it across the entire company,” said Barbora Hermanová, Head of the PR Department.

The goal of the event is to connect generations, bring joy to seniors, and reinforce our company values – perseverance, collaboration, and diversity. We are proud to actively contribute to building a supportive community for the fifth year in a row.
