On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech launched 118 new charging stations, which supplement the 38 existing stations already in use on the plant premises and in adjacent parking lots. The new charging hub includes 110 AC charging points for standard charging and 8 DC points for fast charging, making it one of the largest in the Czech Republic and one of the most comprehensive in Europe. The stations are operated by E.ON.
The total nominal power of the newly installed stations is 3.62 MW, with its distribution managed in real time by the Smart Management system, taking into account current consumption and the plant’s total reserved power capacity. AC charging points offer up to 22 kW of power, while fast DC chargers offer up to 300 kW, enabling convenient continuous charging during working hours as well as rapid vehicle charging in a matter of tens of minutes.
The entire charging infrastructure is equipped with a modern monitoring and security surveillance system. Parking and charging spaces will be under continuous surveillance by thermal cameras, which scan the thermal spectrum and serve to prevent and detect fire risks early. Specialized boxes containing firefighting equipment are also located at the charging stations.
Of the total number, 50 charging points are reserved for employees and visitors—specifically, 48 AC and 2 DC. In the first phase, these points will be designated for HMMC employees who own Hyundai electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles, who will thus be eligible for discounted charging. Thanks to this benefit, they can charge at a final price of approximately 3.80 CZK/kWh for AC charging and 6.78 CZK/kWh for DC charging. In the second phase, planned for the second quarter of 2026, the infrastructure will also be made available to the public and non-benefit employees. The remaining charging points are reserved for company vehicles and management.
Charging infrastructure is also available within the production complex, where there are 26 charging points. Hyundai Kona Electric models are primarily used as shuttle vehicles for internal transportation within the plant.
HMMC also supports the development of electromobility through the “Together for Electromobility” grant program, in which it offers cities, municipalities, and organizations in the Moravian-Silesian Region a Hyundai Kona Electric for free use for six months. HMMC has already loaned vehicles to 18 different entities, which have collectively driven more than 80,000 kilometers.
By launching this new infrastructure, HMMC is supporting the transition to zero-emission mobility not only through the production of electrified vehicles, but also by creating the conditions for their everyday use.
