Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) is responding to the devastating floods that have also affected a large part of the Moravian-Silesian Region. The company has provided CZK 10,000,000 to support the victims.

The Nošovice-based car manufacturer contributed the funds to a fundraising campaign on the Donio donation platform, titled “Hyundai for the Region | Together We Help After the 2024 Floods.” Employees of the Nošovice plant, as well as other interested individuals, can also contribute any amount. The fundraiser is available at donio.cz/hyundaiprokraj     and will run until October 8, 2024. All proceeds will be directed to flood-affected areas in cooperation with the non-profit organization Člověk v tísni.

“We have long been involved in the development of the Moravian-Silesian Region through various activities. Now, our help is needed in areas struck by the devastating floods. We feel solidarity with the victims of this disaster and firmly believe that our financial donation will provide at least some relief in the face of the recent hardships. We are also focusing on our employees who have been seriously affected by the flooding. Through our internal relief fund, they have the opportunity to apply for financial assistance.”

Changki Lee, HMMC president

In addition, the Hyundai plant in Nošovice has lent, free of charge, three Hyundai Tucson 4×4 vehicles and two Hyundai i30s to the organization People in Need. These vehicles are being used by the flood response team assisting in the affected areas, primarily around Krnov and Jeseník. People in Need’s field workers are trained to support individuals affected by emergencies, provide social counseling, and some are also trained in crisis intervention.
