Together for Electromobility: another organizations have received Kona Electric
The Hyundai car plant in Nošovice continues its program that allows municipalities, public offices, and other organizations from the Moravian-Silesian Region to use a Hyundai Kona Electric free of charge for a period of six months or even up to one year.
A group of four successful applicants will now get the chance to experience the benefits of the Nošovice-made electric vehicle firsthand.
The Pavel Novotný Foundation Fund, Šance podaná ruka, the town of Frýdlant nad Ostravicí, and the Diocesan Charity Ostrava-Opava — representatives of these institutions received a Hyundai Kona Electric on Tuesday, February 11, as part of the Together for Electromobility grant program. They will use the vehicles free of charge for a period of six months. This initiative, launched by Hyundai in Nošovice in 2022, supports the development of e-mobility in the Moravian-Silesian Region and helps raise awareness of the benefits of electric vehicles among the general public.
Pavel Novotný, Chairman of the Board of the Pavel Novotný Foundation Fund, shared how the organization will benefit from the vehicle: “We’re really looking forward to using the Kona Electric. It will help us with trips to visit clients and for attending our many events — we organize dozens every year. We’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity and want to thank Hyundai for their support. We believe this vehicle will help not just us, but also those who rely on our assistance.”
The foundation operates in 10 hospitals across the Czech Republic, coordinates the work of 205 volunteers, and runs two counseling centers in Ostrava and Krnov, which are visited by hundreds of patients every year
“Since 2022, a total of 10 organizations have had the opportunity to try out the electric Kona. The program started with a single vehicle available for one year, but the fleet has gradually expanded — we now have four electric cars that are loaned out for periods of 6 to 12 months. This means up to eight different organizations can take part each year. “We’re very pleased to see the growing interest in the program. Since its launch, we’ve received 21 applications, and successful participants have already covered over 47,000 kilometers,” said Barbora Hermanová from Hyundai’s Public Relations Department.
The next application round for municipalities, public offices, and other regional organizations in the Moravian-Silesian Region will open this spring. More information about the program is available on Hyundai’s website at www.hyundai-motor.cz in the About Us section. Applications can be submitted via the Grantys platform.
