The youth academy of Baník has been receiving substantial support from Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) since 2021. The car manufacturer will continue, in its role as the general partner of the FC Baník Ostrava Academy, to support the athletic development of children and youth
“Hyundai has been a partner of our academy for three years now, which is one of the largest in the country. It is no coincidence that the Nošovice Hyundai is the biggest investment in the region, and at the same time, Baník Ostrava is the largest club in Moravia and Silesia. The partnership is therefore natural, and I am glad for it on behalf of Baník,” said Václav Brabec, owner and chairman of the board of FC Baník Ostrava.
“Partnering with the FC Baník Ostrava Academy has brought us joy for three years now. When you say Baník, almost everyone recalls some memory; there are emotions involved. I’m pleased that through our connection with the academy, we support young talented athletes who proudly wear the blue and white jerseys—and we are part of that.”

In addition to financial support for the academy, officials and coaches can use a trio of Nošovice Hyundai Tucson vehicles, available in plug-in hybrid versions with special decals, thanks to the partnership with HMMC. The partnership also includes the prestigious youth Hyundai Cup, whose third edition took place on August 19, 2023, at the football pitch within the HMMC complex. The tournament for the U9 age category featured 12 top teams from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland, with more than a hundred young footballers participating. The final of the Hyundai Cup was contested between Baník Ostrava and Slovan Bratislava—with Baník ultimately winning on penalties.
Thanks to the extension of the partnership with the FC Baník Ostrava Academy, HMMC employees also experienced an unusual event—a tour of the legendary Bazaly stadium in Ostrava, which now serves as a training center for both adults and youth, as well as the headquarters of Baník Ostrava. However, it wasn’t just a guided tour of the stadium and its facilities. On Monday, August 28, employees were allowed to bring their children, who, in addition to the tour, got to try out a real Baník training session. This made it a special experience for the young football enthusiasts as well.
